Handicap For Tournament

Southern Thrills is the hallmark for competition and fun, and for some players competition is fun. The 2022 Southern Thrills Invitational will be using a handicap index for players interested in receiving strokes for Low Net and Skins scoring. USGA handicaps are NOT required to play in the Invitational.

The handicap index is “a measurement of a player’s potential ability on a course of standard playing difficulty.” The golfer uses the handicap index to determine his handicap at a particular course, based on the difficulty of that course.

The golfer can receive a handicap index after posting five scores, and a player must use a service such as the USGA’s GHIN service or GolfNet to calculate the golfer’s handicap index using a complex formula.

Official handicaps will be necessary if you are wanting any number of stroke advantages added to your rounds on both days.  More info to be emailed out to each participant.
